The Brooklyn "Steppers" Marching Band (SMB) are one of the many activities offered at the Brooklyn Music and Arts Program. The one hundred and twenty piece southern collegiate style band, which consists of woodwinds, brass, percussion, dance and flag, is comprised of students grades 5 - 12, has become one of the country's most prestigious marching bands. the style, gait and musical presentation of the band is electrifying.

Throughout the year, the band participates in over eighty parades, showcases and special events. The "Steppers" Marching Band have performed for former President Clinton, New York Governors Cuomo and Pataki, New York city Mayors Dinkins, Giuliani and Bloomberg, and numerous other elected officials the have been featured in films such as "Our Song" and "PULSE: A Stomp Odyssey," commercials for MSG Metro and Sierra Mist and various print media. The band has also appeared on Good Morning America, the Today Show, the Montel Williams Show an the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
